Magic in My Pocket

"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"
~Roald Dahl~

It's no secret that I love books, for both reading and collecting.
Even My Etsy Shop is gradually becoming a vintage book shop.

Today I thought I'd share a couple of those books,
which are filled with magical works, by various authors.

~

The first, is a 1974 copy of The Magic Bridle, which contains a collection of
folk tales by Forbes Stuart, with illustrations by Richard O'Connor.

Next, is a 1973 paperbacked copy of Magic in My Pocket
with words and illustrations by Alison Uttley.

I often buy books for the cover illustration, alone.

How about you?  Do you judge a book by its cover?

  1. Hello Yvonne, I love vintage books and often buy them because I've fallen in love with a cover or perhaps an odd title. I'm putting a blog post together at the moment about a book called The creepie-man’s poke-sack. I saw it advertised in a book dealer’s catalogue and had to buy it for the title alone!
I love both the cover’s you share here. Barbara x

    1. So many people collect gorgeous children's books, it's getting harder to find vintage copies :(
