Winter Woodland

A day spent in woodland is always a day well spent.

With perfectly scenic views to capture...

And no matter what time of year it may be, there are always
beautiful and delicate specimens of nature to be found.

Such as lichen...

Catkins...

Moss...

And so much more!

All of which can be pressed or dried, for
use in many projects later in the year.

What's your favourite time of year for woodland walking?

Have a perfect day.

  2. I'm swooning with pure jealousy, right now... How I LOVE your river shots. And your treasures.

I think I have several times of the year: the beginning of spring (all the sprouting), and autumn (all the changes of colors).

Spring and Autumn are perfect seasons. I also love lazy Summer days 🖤

  3. Yvonne your photos are just lovely. I want to say spring time is my favourite time for walking, but if you were to ask me in the summer, I would probably change my mind! I also love misty autumn days and crisp winter ones (although I don’t like getting cold), so I will have to say all of them. With a slight preference to spring (nothing like hedging my bets)
It looks as though something has made a home in the moss; I wonder what it might be? Terry often asks what I would like for Christmas or my birthday, and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve asked him to set up a night-vision camera in the back garden – not being one for manual labour he usually buys me a book! :-)
    Have a lovely week xx

    1. Thank you Barbara,

I'm the same when it comes to seasons. There's something I love about all of them. I'm guessing fairies live in the moss ☺

I do love the sound of a night-vision camera, but books are always perfect gifts too. I hope Terry manages it some day.

      Enjoy your weekend too xx

  5. The photos are lovely Yvonne...Especially
    the top two..! :).
I live just a couple hundred yards from a
    river..the river Stour..and it's a great
place to walk along, or sit by! And, the
rumour that l did my washing in it...!!!
Is 'NOT' true...! It was my Mum...!!! :).

    I don't walk as much as l used to...I
used to enjoy a walk on a Sunday afternoon,
after lunch, but then Sky TV came along
    and Sunday football...that was that!
I enjoy looking at some of the photos on
peoples post..Not the same l know!
    But l do enjoy my river...1 :0).

Aww, it's a shame you don't head out on those walks any more. I'll bet it's so picturesque. Maybe you should head out there with your Brownie camera and take some pics you can frame (and show to us bloggers of course). :)

    2. This Brownie 127 is about 50yrs old...
I've seen one on eBay for £9:99 and £7:99..
It's amazing, none of those things seem to
increase in value. My Ronson 2000 Hairdryer
is 48yrs old, used every day, except an odd
Sunday...I've seen those on eBay for less
      than £30..!

    3. Such a shame. You'd think they'd be worth a lot more.
Still, great to use and nice to look at ☺

  9. Fall most definately! Especially here in the south. Summer is just way to hot and sweaty to really enjoy anything!
